SCD Soldier Network, Inc.

This section of our website is to provide our soldiers with the volunteer and participation opportunities that exist in their area. As we receive information about an event we will post it in this section, so that our soldiers can participate. This is a new section of our website and it will be updated as information is received, so check back regularly for opportunities in your area. If you know of a front-line soldier who needs attendance at their events or a sickle cell organization who needs volunteers send us an email so that we can place their event on our page.

Atlanta, GA

The SCD Soldier Network is looking for individuals in the Atlanta area to assist in developing our service programs. We need volunteers who will act as ambassadors at area events. Several volunteer opportunities exist for committed people who want to work on proposed projects. If you are interested please contact the office at 770-460-8016.

Chicago, IL

University of Illinois at Chicago is looking for adults and teens ages 18-35 who have sickle cell disease or sickle cell trait and want to be a part of a two year research study to test an education program called CHOICES that teaches various options they have regarding having children. There is compensation for your time & expenses in the amount of $150 over a two year period. You may call (312) 835-3025 and tell them SCD Soldier Network referred you.
